Description

SKIERS PARADISE in this classic mountain chalet with four season views. Quiet and serene setting with great mountain views. This home is tucked away next to the George Washington National Forest but only minutes to skiing. You are also only a short walk to a footpath which leads to the Appalachian Trail. All of this quiet solitude is located just minutes away from the resort activities.

The main floor features cathedral ceilings, open wood beams, a towering stone fireplace, entertain up to 8 at the dining room table. Lots of deck space to sit outside and enjoy the clean air. There are two bedrooms on the main floor--one with a queen and one with a double bed, connected by a bathroom which has a double vanity and a Jacuzzi tub. Upstairs has a decadent second master bedroom with a king bed, private deck and stone fireplace. Lie in bed and listen to the embers burn. There is also a lower level with a family room/entertainment center with a large flat screen television and a fourth bedroom with two twin beds and a full bath. This home combines luxury and seclusion, yet it is located just minutes from all the Wintergreen activities. This classic mountain chalet has all of the modern conveniences. The home is directly across the street from the trail head to the scenic Upper Shamokin Falls; a 20-minute walk to this beautiful cascading waterfall and easy access to the Appalachian Trail.

Access to Wintergreen Facilities

Your rental covers only lodging and promotions, if offered by the Wintergreen Real Estate Company for the properties it manages. Wintergreen Real Estate Company is not affiliated with the Wintergreen Resort. Fees for resort activities are separate and the responsibility of the renter.

As a renter, you get the same access the owners do to Wintergreen facilities operated by the Wintergreen Property Owners Association (WPOA). This includes use of the Chestnut Springs pool and playground and the pool at Rodes Farm. You can also use the outdoor tennis courts at Rodes Farm and adjacent to the Chestnut Springs pool. All other amenities which are operated by Wintergreen Partners, Inc. (WPI) which includes the Wintergarden SPA, the golf courses, ski trails, tennis courts and pools not mentioned above, etc. are extra-cost and the renter's responsibility. These are not included in the rental rates, and our lower rates take this into account.

This is a Member's Advantage property. Renters will get two passes granting them:

  • Use of the Wintergarden indoor/outdoor pools and nautilus facility year round. (Non-members cannot use the Wintergarden or SPA).
  • Preferential A.M tee times on Devils Knob mountain golf course (before 12:30) on holidays and weekends
  • Saturday access to Lake Monocan.
  • 20% off prevailing recreational rates for-lift tickets, snowsports equipment rentals and tubing.
  • 15% off prevailing recreation rates for; greens fees, tennis court fees, aquatics/fitness center access fees, Out of Bounds and Tree house activities and Lake Monocan fees.

These passes belong to the property owner and must be returned at check out. If the passes must be replaced, the renters will be charged $100 per pass to reimburse the property owner.

Rates

Our all-inclusive rates include all taxes, surcharges, and cleaning. Don't be mislead by prices at other agencies that don't include all the charges. Sales taxes, resort fees, and location surcharges can add as much as 35% to the stated price.

If you are paying by cash or check, however, you may be charged a refundable deposit upon renting. Your deposit will be returned after your stay unless required to pay for damages. Call (434) 325-7933 to pay by cash or check.

Group rates and long-stay discounts are also available. Call us at (434) 325-7933 or send us an email to get more information on group rates and stays longer than one week, starting with one free night for stays seven nights or longer.

You may also stay for two or more nights Sunday-Thursday except holidays and get one night half-off through 15 December, 2010.

* Note: There is a two-night minimum for the ski season and and a three-night minimum for holidays. For the 2009-10 season, holiday periods are Christmas and New Years Day (December 23-January 2), Martin Luther King's Birthday (January 15-18) and President's Day (February 12-15). Exceptions to the minimum night policy are based on availablity. Call the rental office.
